| Fitch Upgrades Hilton Hotels Ratings | | Posted Sunday, February 04, 2007 2:56:48 PM by Blog57 Team | | Credit ratings agency Fitch Ratings on Wednesday upgraded debt ratings on Hilton Hotels Corp. and revised its ratings outlook to "Positive" from "Stable." Fitch raised Hilton's issuer default, senior credit facility and senior note rating to "BB+" from "BB." "BB" is the highest junk bond rating and a plus or minus indicates the rating's status within major rating categories. Fitch said the upgrade reflects Hilton's attempt to decrease debt following its February acquisition of Hilton International. Since then, they have had about $1.6 billion of asset sales, according to Fitch. The pace of asset sales since the acquisition has been faster than Fitch anticipated following the transaction and Hilton retained long-term management/franchise agreements on most of the properties," Fitch said in a statement.... | |

He doesn't like the struggle to find a good hotel room. So Higgins and his brother bought one instead. It's theirs for eight weeks a year, complete with access to butler service and use of a chauffeured Bentley. ``The ability to get good accommodation in New York is becoming more and more difficult,'' said Paul Higgins, 55. ``There's certain times of year when you just can't get anything half decent.'' Time shares, once known for high-pressure sales pitches for properties that sometimes were never built, are attracting more members in Manhattan as hotel companies expand fractional ownership beyond resort destinations.... | |

| | | Architect says Nicky Hilton took credit for his ideas | | Posted Wednesday, November 08, 2006 7:03:23 AM by Blog57 Team | | When developers signed Nicky Hilton to their new South Beach condo-hotel project, the young star brought them exposure that real estate publicists only dream of: a Vanity Fair mention, architectural renderings in People, even encouraging words from David Letterman. Now the venture is awash in another byproduct of fame: sneering celebrity gossip. Los Angeles architect Nizar Idrisi accuses the 23-year-old of taking credit for his designs of the Nicky O hotel, and he's eager to dish to the media. ''I've never seen her lift a pen. I've never seen her draw anything,'' Idrisi said Monday. His story has the makings of a juicy tabloid tale, including heated e-mails from Hilton's inner circle, catty comments about the star's poolside behavior, even a connection to the O.J.... | |
